If you are an avid reader of our fair blog, and I know you are, then you are well aware of Davila 666, the Puerto Rican sensations who rock you hard like a good strong margarita. What you might not know is that many members of Davila (as they are lovingly also known as)…

GET BENT!: Review: Priests - Tape 1 "EP"
letsgetbent:

By Burgers Rana
There is absolutely no information on Washington, DC’s Priests that exists on the Internet (therefore, the world) other than I know that they are playing at Death By Audio on February 24 (with Texas’s Teenage Cool Kids) and an imaginary biography created from what I can…

Review: Habibi - Habibi 7”
letsgetbent:

By Burgers Rana
As suspected and made evident in our last write-up of the all-girl Spector-fied quartet, Habibi have gone and got themselves a 7”. Out on French label Born Bad Records, the Brooklyn band have slapped down the peppy “Far From Right”, the Crystals-flavored “Sweetest Talk”, and the enchanting and ultra-chill “Sunsets”. There is no note as to how many copies have been pressed; nevertheless, this will definitely be a fun piece of wax to play at your next “DJ” night.
I recently was lucky enough to get into their sold-out Union Pool gig in good ol’ Brooklyn, and let me tell you these girls are the real thing. Fun and ever smiling, these girls have fun playing their songs—they should be, as they get to play magical Rev-Lons-style numbers. They are slated to play around the Northeast for some of February and early March, and be sure to check them in Austin as they plan to make it out to this year’s SXSW.
Check out the dates below and listen to the 7” here.

GET BENT!: Review: Burning Yellows/The Whines - Split 12''

By Burgers Rana
Palmist Records is the sister label to famed UK badasses FatCat Records. The label has two goals: 1. release limited pressed vinyl splits from musicians they love and adore, and 2. be a contributing patron to the DIY scene. With only seven releases under the belt,…

I Hate Yams
Common holiday woes.
Depressed.
Alone.
Not very thankful.
Would rather hang with weed and wine. It’s cliche, true and more common than chicken pox. Although, apple pie is good.
Pie a la mode is delicious too.
Football is not fun to watch. Movies remind me that I’m disengaged from the world and trying to talk is harder than eating yams.
I hate yams.
